In this video from maykeema on September 27, 2009 at the Winterdance kennel near Drag Lake, Haliburton, Ontario, Canada, Hank DeBruin, (in the bright red sweater), and assistant Adam teach people how to harness the dogs. They then hooked them up to show a team ready to go.

Do you like to dance? Hank DeBruin and Tanya McCready-DeBruin are my neighbours, (less than a kilometer away). They own and operate Winterdance Dogsled Tours near Drag Lake, Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.

About Winterdance by Tanya McCready-DeBruin:

Our distance race team started as a dream over 12 years ago when we first hooked up our 4 huskies. It has been a long road but the Iditarod has always been the ultimate destination for us and our dogs.

That road lead us to Haliburton, Ontario where we established our kennel and touring business back in 1999. Since than we have now grown to a touring kennel of 140 Purebred Siberian Huskies with some amazing staff and the privilege of having introduced thousands of people to this incredible sport.

2006 saw the start of our march to Iditarod, with Hank and an 8 dog team running the 50 mile race in Bancroft, Ontario. Since then they have completed the Marmora, Ontario 120 mile race and traveled to Maine for the Can-am 60 & 250, Michigan several times for the Seney 300 and UP 200, and Minnesota for the Beargrease Marathon a 400 mile challenge. This past winter saw Hank complete both required qualifying races to enter the Iditarod in Alaska!

Do you like to dance? The music accompanying this video is well suited to dancing in the woods! This video is from 2007 – 2008 and is over 10 minutes long, with some very funny impromptu clips after the first 5 minutes! Watch for the mustached lady and the partially bearded Hank Debruin profile shots. It’s clear that the Winterdance staff is fun loving and mischievous!
