Driving a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria, Neil Young visits the rural town of Omemee, Ontario, Canada where he spent a key part of his formative years, and reminisces about his former neighbors and their daughters. As he drives past bulldozers transforming the landscape, he remarks, ‘you don’t have to worry when you lose friends … because they’re still in your head and in your heart’ … So true!!
In Neil Young Journeys, Director: Jonathan Demme intersperses Neil Young’s May 2011 Massey Hall concert footage with brief scenes from a road trip showing Neil touring through Omemee, Ontario, Canada in his old car… then off to play Massey Hall in Toronto Ontario, Canada – May 2011.
(The video shows Neil driving through his old home village and my home village, Omemee, Ontario, Canada, including the Scott Young Public School in Omemee, which was named after Neil’s dad, Scott Young, a famous Canadian columnist and sports writer).
Thanks to my cousin Michael Stephenson, also originally from Omemee, Ontario, but now living in Peterborough, Ontario, for providing insight into this Neil Young video.
